Henry Scamurra brings his Pathways Trio to Rock Island Bridge on Friday, September 11th, from 7 to 10 PM. Scamurra is a Kansas City saxophonist, composer, and bandleader who came up through UMKC and the Kennedy Center’s Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program. His main group, Urban Forum, released its debut album in 2025. Pathways is the trio, and the set leans experimental, with written melody and live improvising trading off in real time. Three hours of it, outdoors over the Kansas River.
