Smooth jazz, funky grooves, and a Missouri State Jazz Treasure on the bridge. Max Groove brings his trio to the American Royal Hall on June 3rd for an evening of original and contemporary jazz from one of the pioneers of the smooth jazz sound. Named a “Missouri State Jazz Treasure” by Governor Blunt in 2007, Max has twelve internationally released albums, three of which landed in the top twenty on Billboard Jazz. He’s joined by Guy Busch on drums and Clay Johnson on bass, bringing the same sound that’s shared stages with Joe Sample & the Crusaders, the Temptations, Chaka Khan, Dave Koz, and Marcus Miller to the Rock Island Bridge.
Here’s What to Expect:
- A live set from Max Groove, Guy Busch, and Clay Johnson
- Smooth jazz and funky originals from the “Night Owl” release
- Free admission, just show up
- An evening of live jazz with the Kansas River and KC skyline as your backdrop
This event is free and open to the public.
