Join Paddle KC Paddling Club (www.paddlekc.com) and Kansas City area paddlers to learn how to SAFELY and COMFORTABLY extend your kayaking, paddleboarding and canoeing through cold water seasons (fall, winter, and spring). Learn required and recommended gear and skills to keep you comfortable and safe, and avoid all-too-common bad advice that wastes your money and can put you and paddling friends in danger. Enjoy dinner and drinks during the presentation.
Here’s What to Expect:
- Hear about the pros – and cons – of fall, winter and spring paddling to decide if it’s really something you want to do. It’s wonderful when done right, but it’s not for everyone.
- Learn critical safety considerations, gear, and skills for cold water paddling (fall through late spring).
- See required and recommended clothing, gear and accessories with pros and cons of each. We’ll show examples we love and some that are a waste of money, and possibly dangerous.
- Meet other local kayakers, paddleboarders and canoeists.
- Raffle drawing for paddling-related goodies!
- Hear about upcoming fall and winter paddling activities in the Kansas City area, plus trips.

Join us for lunch or dinner—our dining room and walk-up window are open daily.
From 11 AM to 3 PM, enjoy the casual Rock Island Eats lunch menu, featuring comfort-food favorites and quick bites.
Beginning at 3 PM, we serve the River House dinner menu, featuring Midwest lake-house favorites, coastal smokehouse flavors, cocktails, and scenic river views.
Prefer to grab your food and go enjoy the rest of the bridge? The walk-up window (Rock Island Eats) is open for both lunch and dinner.
